I love finding a good flight deal. Finding a flight that’s super cheap is an easy excuse for a trip. Budget travel makes experiencing new places more accessible for more people. Today, travel is honestly the easiest it has ever been. With technology, you can find cheap flights, affordable hotels, wonderful hostels, and more. So, what is the secret? Let’s discuss.

Flights

I use two main websites to find cheap flights: Skyscanner and Student Universe. They have been wonderful. Before I go into detail though, I want to discuss how cheap flights are in Europe. If you fly with budget airlines like RyanAir and EasyJet, you can save so much money. These airlines are literally no frills. They will get you from point A to point B and if that’s all you need totally worth it. I flew from Dublin to London for a total of $31 including my bag (and I think the bag was more expensive than my ticket).

Skyscanner

https://www.skyscanner.com/

This is the site I go to first usually. Skyscanner has this feature where you can search “Everywhere” allowing you to see the cheapest flights all over the world from your home city. It is super reliable, and I totally recommend it. Think Expedia or Orbitz but actually good at finding cheap flights. You can also look at the entire month if your plans are flexible to see which days are cheaper.

StudentUniverse

https://www.studentuniverse.com/

I love student universe. They are the company I booked my flight to Europe with in 2019. I even had a problem with the airline and student universe helped rebook my flights at no extra cost. This site should be a go to for anyone under 26 (students and young adults). They can also alert you if prices drop to snag the best deal. (oh and they follow me on Instagram shoutout)

Airbnb

I love staying in Airbnb’s. I’ll choose one over a hotel 90% of the time. And if you have never signed up with Airbnb before, use this link to sign up and you’ll save $35! Free money! https://www.airbnb.com/c/clayw884?referral_share_id=42499950-63fa-418b-bf24-6409c1ef3b2a

Hostelworld

If you are backpacking through Europe, use Hostelworld to find cheap hostels. For the entire month I spent in Europe, I averaged around $30 a night staying in hostels. They also have highly rated, nice hostels (no hostel horror stories here).

I’ll try to update this post with more tips as I discover them! Enjoy that cheap flight!
