Books help your mind travel and sometimes they inspire you to travel as well. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is one of my all-time favorites and the perfect first book review on the blog. It follows the story of Santiago, a boy from Spain who has a dream one night telling him to find a treasure at the Pyramids in Egypt. The story follows his journey from Spain into Morocco and finally across the Sahara into Egypt. However, along the way he learns that the destination isn’t the most important but the journey to get there.
This story is a very quick read. I finished it in 2 days and was in love with the adventure. It actually inspired me to go on my own Sahara Desert tour. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars. If you need some wanderlust inspiration or just want to escape into a new part of the world, I highly recommend this! It is filled with wise words of wisdom and so many quotes that my copy is filled with underlines.
